Camp Code - Summer 2022
From self-driving cars to robot-assisted surgery, computer science is revolutionizing every aspect of our lives. Coding is a fundamental part of it and a skill that children need to learn so that when grown, they can be on the cutting edge of these fields. When kids are introduced to coding, they gain an appreciation of how digital technology works. Digital technology surrounds us every day whether it be through our smart phones, video games, websites, video entertainment, automated machines, or even robots. There is very little one can do in the world today, that we aren't confronted with digital technology. What drives this technology is software or computer programs that are created by coding. Like learning about biology and chemistry, it is important for kids to understand the building blocks of an integral part of their lives. They need to realize that what happens when they use technology is not magic, and they themselves can create programs that can be useful. Knowing what happens under the hood of modern technology is just one of the benefits of learning to code for kids. Many of the other benefits are related to teaching them how to think and develop skills that they will need in the future.  WE HAVE NEW ROBOTS IN THE LAB! YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THE FUN!!!

Students can be dropped off at the study center entrance to the school on Belhaven Street between 10:15 and 10:30. My assistant will be there to collect students and walk them to the new Innovation Lab. You may also walk your child in, if you prefer.

Students are to be picked up at the same entrance at 12 noon. My assistant will walk them to the entrance and wait with them until all have been picked up. Please be prompt as I will have another camp session following Storybook STEAM that my assistant and I will need to set up for.

Please indicate the plans for your child following Storybook STEAM Camp by checking the appropriate box below.
