Traumatic Brain injury: Research Presentation by the WSUSOM Conti Lab
Everyone needs to know about traumatic brain injury, because it’s more common than people realize and knows no demographic boundaries. In honor of March being Brain Injury Awareness month, we are honored to host Dr. Alana Conti PhD, from the Wayne State University School of Medicine, to present her research on traumatic brain injury which has recently received over 1 million dollars of funding from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Rehabilitation Research and Development Service in 2020.
Additionally, we will be hosting the president of the Brain Injury Association of Michigan (BIAMI) to give a presentation about how TBI impacts its patient's lives and families. It will give us the perspective of what patients with TBI go through and how this organization is helping its survivors through advocacy, policy, caregiving, research, and healthcare.
