18th Annual Cheeseburger Cook-Off Rules & Registration

Eligibility: 

The Competition is open to both local and visiting cheeseburger enthusiasts. Both professional and amateur chefs are welcome. All contestants must complete a short course in food safety preparation the morning of the contest. Each team is responsible for preparing 300-400 * dependent on # of teams registered - 1/3 lb. for the public and to continue to cook burgers until 2:30 PM. 

Rules: 

1. As space is limited, we will only accept the First 15 (Paid) Teams. $100 Entry Fee Is Non-Refundable. In addition-Your allotted space will be and RV Slot with electric, water, and sewer. 
2. All teams must be ready to serve the public by 11:30 am & cook until 2:30 pm. 
3. All burgers must be 1/3lb, cooked on-site and to temperature specification of food safety specialists. 
4. Cooking locations will be assigned upon arrival and equipment will be confined to your allotted space. 
5. Each team will be responsible for the clean-up of their area as well as making sure all the drips form the cookers are contained and disposed of or absorbed properly.  No smoking in cooking area. 
6. Set-up will be available the day before and the morning of the event - must be set up no later than 9 AM 
7. Judging will be based on the 3 Judges for best overall cheeseburger. 
8. All burgers must be composed 100% of pure beef. Beef, buns, cheese, lettuce, onions, & tomatoes will be provided. Cheese will be in blocks ready to slice or shred. Burger may include any combination of condiments, spreads, fruits, veggies, & sauces. Teams will need to bring enough secret ingredient to make 300-400 burgers, plus your own shade, grills, tables & chairs. 
9. Teams will need to bring their own coolers to jeep their beef cool. Ice will be furnished. 
10. all entries must be received by noon Friday, July 5th, 2023 in order to ensure beef supply provided by Cargill Meat Solution of Friona is sufficient. 
11. Additional and more specific rules will be given at orientation.

9-9:30 AM   Orientation, Rules & Food Safety Presentation
11:00 AM    Judging begins 
11:30 AM - 2:30 PM  Public Sale of Burgers 

1st & 2nd Place will be determined by the judges and received a cash prize of $1,000 & $300. 

People's Choice Recognition will be determined by the Public.
