Performance Requirements
Competition Showcase at Secrest Auditorium. This acts as a practice run for competitions.
Rising Star and Spotlight Dancers will attend 3 local dance competitions at Secrest Auditorium in April.
If your student is unable to commit to a performance opportunity, written notice and approval are required by December 17th. We will begin choreographing dances in December over break for the students to begin in class in January. We will use any known absences to adjust choreography and plan accordingly.

Consistent class attendance fosters confidence in each student and a strong sense of community in our performing groups. We ask that all Rising Star and Spotlight Students maintain good attendance in class and rehearsal so they feel confident and prepared to perform. Parents will be provided notice if a student is falling behind on choreography due to absences. If a student is under prepared to perform due to frequent absences, they may be asked to withhold from an upcoming performance.

Performance Drop Fee
Group Dances are a team effort! Each Rising Star and Spotlight Dancer has an important part to play in the choreography and are essential to help the dance come to life. Students who choose to voluntarily drop from a performance after the absence deadline, will be charged a $50 drop fee. This fee helps to ensure that dancers are committed to the performance and also helps cover the additional time and rehearsal needed to inform dancers of the absence and adjust spacing and choreography accordingly.

Performance Fees
The performance team fee is $250 per dancer. This fee covers:
Competition Costume
3 Dance Competition Entry Fees
Saturday Rehearsals
Competition entry fees and costume fees are non-refundable. The competition and costume companies do not provide refunds. The performance team fee is not prorated for missed competitions. The fee will be used to teach choreography to an understudy or re-space choreography.

Performance Opportunity Benefits
Rising Star and Spotlight dancers are part of a special program that fosters teamwork, confidence, and expression. In the Rising Star and Spotlight program, just like sports, your weekly classes are your practice and the performances are the game. Rising Stars learn to work and bond as a team. By rehearsing and performing together, dancers learn the value of cooperation and how to be a supportive team player. These dancers increase self-esteem with additional performance opportunities by showcasing their hard work and celebrating their progress on stage. Rising Star and Spotlight Dancers will grow and thrive within a structured environment that engages students in fun and creative ways to bring out the best within each and every dancer.

Rehearsals
Students will learn their initial Choreography in their weekly ballet classes starting in January.
Students will have additional rehearsals for spacing and cleaning purposes based on their ballet level on Saturdays from February - March. This is to help all Rising Star  and Spotlight Dancers get to know each other and work as a team outside of their normal class times.

Performance Team Kick-Off Party
