KFB Neaten up November
Keep Framingham Beautiful (KFB) invites everyone to participate in "Neaten up November" from Thursday 11/18 to Sunday 11/21. We want to take the opportunity to get as much trash picked up before the winter weather starts to set in.

We are mostly encouraging folks to do small clean ups on their own or in self organized groups, but we will also be offering 2 group clean ups on the weekend.

Please read the details below and fill out the form and we will communicate with more specifics.

If you have any questions, feel free to send us an email: KeepFraminghamBeautiful@gmail.com

Keep Framingham Beautiful is co-sponsored by the Framingham Earth Day Festival, Framingham Centre Nursery School, Jack's Abby Craft Lagers and the Framingham DPW.

Event Format
MOSTLY DISTRIBUTED EVENT:
1. We are encouraging folks to clean up litter wherever they see it and whenever works for their schedule.
2. This may mean cleaning up your street, your neighborhood, a school, a park etc. Anywhere you see trash is a viable cleanup spot, as long as you can do so SAFELY.
3. Please post picture(s) of your progress to our Facebook group: www.facebook.com/groups/keepframinghambeautiful

SELF ORGANIZE: We also encourage folks to self organize into small groups as this can be fun and will allow you to make a bigger impact. A few suggestions:
1. Make this a family activity with your spouse, children, etc.
2. Coordinate with neighbors to collectively do a thorough cleanup of your neighborhood.
3. Meet up with some friends at a park or school and clean it up together.
4. Reach out to folks on our Facebook group to see if others want to help you with a particular area: www.facebook.com/groups/keepframinghambeautiful

GROUP CLEANUPS: We will have 2 group clean ups on the weekend for folks who are interested
1. Saturday, 11/20 @ 8:00am - Route 9 Cleanup - we will assign sections once we have a count of volunteers (Due to the proximity to a busy road, this cleanup is not family friendly)
2. Sunday, 11/21 @ 11:30am - Downtown cleanup - meet @ ātac: downtown arts + music (160 Hollis St.)

DISPOSAL:
1. We expect that most folks will find a small/medium amount of trash that they can dispose of in their own curbside trash barrel or a public barrel/dumpster that they come across.
2. If you are targeting an area with more trash than you can deal with please send us an email and we can likely help with disposal: KeepFraminghamBeautiful@gmail.com

Safety Suggestions
1. CHOOSE A SAFE PLACE to clean up. No piece of trash is worth endangering yourself for.
2. If you have little kids we suggest you go to a school or park and avoid roadsides.
3. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
4. Wear bright colored clothes... preferably your KFB shirt (likely over other layers this time of year)!
5. Wear gloves.
6. Wear sturdy soled shoes.
7. Please consider wearing a face mask.
8. Be careful of poison ivy. If you think you may have come in contact it is a good idea to use Tecnu wash or similar product.
