Travel Scholarship Form - 2022 Fall West Tournament
The Fall West will be held on November 12-13, 2022. Please submit this form by the registration deadline to be considered for a scholarship.

You do not need to fill this form if you don't require financial aid from BEST for transport to the tournament. Travel reimbursement comes from a fixed pool allocated specifically for that purpose, so you might end up being reimbursed for less than you applied for. BEST commits to reimbursing teams for an amount equivalent to the lowest-price available train tickets from their location to the tournament location. All scholarship applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Please note that in order to be considered for a travel Scholarship, in addition to this form, you must also have completed your registration process in its entirety. A registration checklist has been sent to your email. Scholarship award decisions will be available in the week following the deadline.

Bear in mind that the amount awarded to you is used to cover student travel to and from the tournament. BEST reimburses the chaperone from each team, as well as all judges, separately.

Scholarship Application
What is the price, in Bulgarian lev (BGN), of one return (two-way) NON-discounted train ticket from your location to the tournament location? *
Please note that you can check that on the BDZ website (http://www.bdz.bg/). If your town doesn't have a train station, please answer with "0.00". In any other case, input the price of the return train ticket, even if you intend to travel by bus or other means of transportation.
How many students from your team will attend the tournament *in person*? *
Are you bringing 10 or more students, and therefore eligible for the 75% train ticket discount for student groups? *
BEST will award your team a scholarship equivalent to the lowest-price obtainable train ticket, so in case you are eligible for a discount but do not take advantage of it, you may end up paying more than your awarded scholarship. If there is a discrepancy between the answer to this question and the number of students you're bringing, we will contact you on the designated e-mail.
If you are unable or don't intend to take the train, please explain why.
Please include as much detail as possible for why your team does not intend to or cannot take the train. Also include the estimated price of the means of transportation you intend to use, since in cases of leftover funds, BEST may award you a scholarship for that amount.
