Forest City School for Strings Summer Music Camp

London’s Forest City School for Strings invites budding string players (violin, viola, cello, harp) and pianists of all levels and backgrounds to join in FCSS' first ever two-week summer music camp!  Students between the ages of 4 and 17 will forge lifelong friendships while learning to collaborate with peers in the process of musical creation. 

Students will be immersed in a rich, diverse, and challenging learning environment facilitated by first-rate educators and performers: as a part of their time at camp, they will receive: 

Junior-Intermediate Levels (July 24-August 4):

-daily hot lunch

-3 private lessons/week (bowed strings)/daily private lessons (piano and harp)

-daily technique and repertoire class

-daily orchestra rehearsals

-choir and musical theatre

-solo performance class opportunities

-theory and composition

-arts and crafts

-sports and team building activities

-optional secondary instrument lessons (viola, piano, etc.)


Senior Level (July 31-August 4):

-daily hot lunch

-daily private lesson and/or solo coachings with accompanist

-daily masterclass opportunities featuring special professional guest artists/pedagogues

-daily technique and repertoire classes

-daily chamber music rehearsals and coachings

-chamber orchestra

-theory and composition


WEEK 1: July 24-28, 2023 (8:30am-4:30pm daily)

*WEEK 2: July 31-August 4, 2023 (8:30am-4:30pm daily)

FINAL SHOWCASE RECITAL: Friday, August 4th, 2pm-4:30pm 

***As this is a "Performance-Based" camp where students will participate in a final performance, showcasing many hours of group rehearsal and preparation, students ages 4-13 yrs are strongly encouraged to participate in the full two-week program. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis by communicating with camp director, Jordan Clayton at jordanjclayton2@gmail.com. Students attending only week 2 will need to arrive with all repertoire fully learned in advance. (Single week tuition: $500/$600)

Junior (ages 4-7 yrs) Full Program: $800

(Single-week Junior tuition: $450)

Intermediate (ages 8-13 yrs) Full Program : $1,000

(Single-week Intermediate Tuition: $550)

Senior (ages 14-17 yrs) ***July 31-August 4 only***: $650
