This year's FURCA Workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 15th from 5-7pm and Thursday, March 16th from 1-3pm.
At FURCA workshops, we celebrate and reflect our growing culture of undergraduate research. We have two workshops for students to attend:
Research and Innovation Student Group Discussion (Wednesday, March 15th from 5-7pm):This workshop will provide attendees with a better understanding of the research and innovation opportunities available through student groups at UofA. The format of the workshop will be a flexible, dynamic discussion to allow all attendees to ask questions and connect with student group leaders from a wide variety of disciplines and backgrounds. These activities will provide attendees with an opportunity to explore new ways to get involved with research and innovation at the UofA. EDI (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) and Allyship in Research (Thursday, March 16th from 1-3pm):
This workshop will focus on creating an inclusive research environment where all individuals are valued, respected, and able to fully participate in the research process. Attendees will learn about the importance of EDI in research and gain practical tools and strategies to become allies in promoting equity and diversity in their research communities. This workshop will be highly interactive, and will be focused on applying key principles of good EDI practice in discussion with fellow student researchers.
