Application to Work a Nourish Lexington Kitchen Shift
Thank you for your interest in helping to prepare meals in order to feed those who need nourishment in these turbulent times! At this time, FoodChain is coordinating shifts to prepare meals in our Kitchen (501 W. Sixth St). In order to keep everyone safe while also maximizing the meals produced, we will be running shifts with as few people coming in and out of our building as possible.

To apply for a shift position, you must have a current food handler's license, be in good health, and be able to show proof that you have previously lost your employment in the food industry. This work opportunity is meant for those who are currently out of work due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Each shift is expected to produce 250 ready-to-eat (or ready-to-heat) to go meals, packed into containers. The menu will be guided by the assistance of FoodChain staff, along with the shift team. FoodChain will provide all necessary ingredients as well as the to go containers. FoodChain will also then arrange for the transport and distribution of these meals to feed those in need.

By applying below, you are not guaranteed a shift assignment. Someone from FoodChain will contact you based upon the credentials you list below, your availability, and the availability of shifts.

Successful applicants must be able to take direction and work in a team environment. Workers in the kitchen must remain healthy, practice social distancing and may be subject to temperature checks. Anyone who looks unwell will be sent home immediately and will not be able to return for another shift. If an individual becomes ill, team members who have worked on the same shift as that individual will also need to self-quarantine for the CDC recommended 14 day period.
