To apply for the Rotary Youth Leadership Award for 2021, please fill out the following application.

There is a $50 application fee for applying for this program, unless an exemption has been arranged. Applicants who participated in the RYLA online program in early 2021 are exempt from the application fee. If this fee will be a barrier to your application please contact our committee via email: ryladistrict9800committee@gmail.com 

Please note:
You are able to edit your applications answers after you have submitted the google form. This function will be disabled once the application period closes.

Once you have applied for RYLA you will receive correspondence from both our committee regarding your application and sponsorship as well as communication from our Program Directors. Unless advised otherwise you will also be sent an invoice for your $50 application fee.

Our application review process involves our committee, sponsoring Rotary clubs and Program directors assessing some or all of your submitted application, please consider this when submitting your responses.
Word limits indicate the level of detail various parties are looking for when assessing your application.


Key information and Program Dates:

The dates for our RYLA program have changed and will now be an in-person program from the 13-19 February 2022.

The program will be held at Camp Getaway, Axedale VIC. The RYLA committee will arrange a bus from central Melbourne to the venue.

Sponsorship:

- If you have been in contact with a Rotary Club, there is provision in the application to detail this information. If you have not been in contact with a district 9800 Rotary Club to sponsor your involvement in RYLA, your application will go into the ‘pool’ of applicants and sections of your application will be shared with a potential sponsor Rotary Club.

If you are applying and are not yet connected with a sponsoring club but would like to approach a club for support to guarantee your successful application please contact your local club about RYLA and or reach out to our committee who will help connect you with a Rotary Club.

Once successfully sponsored for RYLA 2021, you will be contacted by your sponsoring Rotary Club for follow-up or potentially an interview. Most Rotary Clubs will expect you to visit a meeting before and/or after the RYLA program.

Preparation for the camp:
- After your application has been accepted, we will keep in touch to provide you with all relevant details in the lead up to the program. We aim to make RYLA a new and exciting venture for you, and as such we will be keeping much of the program a mystery until you arrive. This may challenge you, as it has challenged many past participants, but we know from experience that it is necessary for a successful camp and adds to your experience.


Confidentiality:
- Rotary District 9800 respects your privacy, and any personal information gathered as part of the application process will be stored securely. Rotary District 9800 will not provide your details to any external parties without your prior consent. Any personal information requested on this form is for the sole purpose of program planning and ensuring your safety and well-being.

COVID-19
RYLA district 9800 will adhere to any COVID-19 restrictions and requirements in place at the time of our program. These may include proof of vaccination and/or proof of negative COVID-19 test. We will communicate these requirements as we are made aware of them.
