We have exciting news-- the OAGC Governing Board recently voted to make membership in the Family & Community Division FREE for gifted caregivers! We are making the resources on our divisional website publicly available, but we encourage families to join our division so that we can keep you up-to-date on various issues which might affect your child's education.
We know folks are already navigating an over-saturated informational environment, so we offer three types of member communication to best suit our families' needs. Feel free to sign up for one or all of these options!
- OAGC Advocacy Alerts. Advocacy alerts provide updates on gifted-related K-12 policy developments. We give you information on what's going on at the Ohio Statehouse and with the State Board of Education regarding gifted education. There are typically about 8-12 advocacy updates per year, depending on whether it's a budget year and whether gifted policy is in the political spotlight.
- Family & Community Division Newsletter. We are starting a regular FCD newsletter which provides a high-level summary of recent K-12/GT policy developments and other potentially helpful information. Right now we're starting with 2 newsletters per year.
- Scholarship Opportunities. These notifications will be reminders about scholarship and other program opportunities that may be of interest to gifted families.
