COMMENT GUIDELINES
- The public comment period is limited to three minutes per person.
- If there are several speakers addressing the same topic or sentiment, please select a single spokesperson that could summarize the input.
- The Budget Committee chair may use discretion to establish a total time limit on all public comment.
- The public comment opportunity is not a discussion, debate or dialogue between the speaker and the Budget Committee. It is a citizen’s opportunity to express opinions on issues of the budget.
- Improper conduct or remarks that are defamatory or abusive will not be tolerated and that person’s privilege to address the Budget Committee will be terminated.
- Any person, who is invited by the Budget Committee chair to speak to the Budget Committee during a meeting, should state their name and whether they are a resident of the Bethel community and,
if speaking for an organization, the name of the organization.
It is important to show respect to the speaker and ensure the Budget Committee can hear the speaker’s comments; for that reason, we ask that audience members refrain from applause or offering audible comments.
Reference to a specific employee, group of employees, or the school community is
prohibited as follows:
- The Budget Committee will not hear complaints about individual school personnel, nor against any member of the school community, including
retelling of events whereby individuals may be personally identifiable, regardless of whether names or positions are mentioned.
- Contact the District Office for the proper process to express any complaints involving staff members.

- The Budget Committee welcomes your input. Please submit this completed form prior to the start of the meeting.
- When your name is called, take a seat at the table, facing the Budget Committee chair.
- State your name and whether you are a resident of the Bethel community.
- Please limit your remarks to 3 minutes.
