BEST PRACTICES FOR SUBMITTING SESSIONS
Programs do not have to have all speakers confirmed or details finalized, but the more information confirmed the better a program will likely score during the Community Voting stage. This first submission stage is about evaluating the program IDEA and the intended IMPACT.

The goal of Detroit Startup Week is to celebrate the startup,  scale-up & "been" up entrepreneurial ecosystem. Program sessions should celebrate successes, share knowledge, lessons learned, networks and resources.  Program sessions should be not a heavy selling session. This is strictly prohibited.

Not all programs will be approved to participate in Community Voting. Proposals will be evaluated based on a combination of fit, need, quality and unique value to DSW and the program track.

All session types are welcome. Ideas focused on transferring knowledge to the community have the best chance of being selected, with top consideration to those that are unique, new, or different.

In the case of submissions covering the same or similar topics, we may either choose a single session or try to combine multiple sessions into a single panel. Emphasis will be to design a schedule with different speakers and topics than we’ve had in previous years in order to expand our audience and subject areas.
