Community Budget Advisory Committee
Jeffco Public Schools is likely to experience a significant budget shortfall for the 2020/21 school year caused by reductions in available state funding because of the negative economic impact from COVID-19. The Superintendent is establishing a working group to provide input and guidance to inform the district’s recommendations to the Board of Education for finalizing the 2020/21 budget.

The Committee is charged with:
•understanding the district’s assumptions and forecast modeling on revenue impacts for the 2020/21 school year;
•evaluating and providing input on recommendations for what actions should be taken in response to the expected drop in available revenues;
•providing recommendations on appropriate use of the district’s cash reserve;
•considering possible multi-year negative budget effects in providing input on recommendations; and,
•submitting a written report to the Superintendent no later than June 1, 2020
