Hello lockpickers, it's like Homecoming this year, weird... feels like there is a theme in there somewhere!

TOOOL's biggest event of the year is coming up, and we're looking forward to seeing many of you there! Read on to learn how you can be one of the awesome staff that makes this event work so well.

Please forward this email
This email is going out to the TOOOL Lockpickvillage Volunteers list. If you know someone who is not on the list but should be, feel free to send this to them (and encourage them to get on the list).

====Dates and Venue====
DEF CON 30 is August 11 - 14 at Caesars FORUM, Flamingo, Harrah's Hotel, and Linq Hotel

Although DEF CON has expanded to 4 locations this year, we have a hunch the LPV will be in Caesars FORUM.

====Staffing Timeline====
June 3 - Call for Staff opens, Call for Content opens
June 24 - Call for Staff closes
July 1 - Shift selection opens
July 15 - Roommate assignments announced
August 1 - Shifts selection closed, resolve unassigned staff and shifts.

====Staffing Levels and their Benefits====
As with years past, we recognize that people have various levels of time to dedicate to the Village, and we accommodate that through different dedication levels: Light, Dedicated, and Insane.
    Light:             4 shifts (Badge cost covered, plus love)
    Dedicated:    6 shifts (Badge cost plus most of room cost, plus love)
    Insane:          At least 8 shifts (Badge cost plus room cost, plus love)

**Badge**: As usual, ALL levels of volunteers will have their entry to DEF CON paid for.  Completely. The cost of entry keeps on its trend of rising making this year the most expensive yet. This gives the base value of volunteering this year a (non-redeemable for cash value) $360 value! - to say nothing of the priceless moments that just seem to...happen.

**Rooms**: Dedicated volunteers will even get most of their room paid for by TOOOL.  If you are one of those golden people we call "Insane" volunteers, the *entire* room accommodations will be paid for (plus some incidentals like food during shifts, free swag, etc). Naturally, staying in one of TOOOL's block of rooms includes likely be sharing it with another volunteer.

Of course, these are just the perks that come from us - those you who have volunteered in the past know that there are plenty of other awesome reasons to come help us out.

For now, just think about how much time you can commit to the village. The actual shift planning will happen in July when we have a better idea of staff numbers and when events will be happening during DEF CON.

Clarification: To avoid confusion, setup/teardown shifts WILL count as worked shifts. Although we continue to ask anyone who is around to lend a hand during if they can or want to, those shifts will now be staffed as regular shifts included in the 4-8 count for dedication levels.

In the event we have more volunteers than we can accommodate, TOOOL membership, dedication level, and prior volunteer experience will be considered.

====Tentative Shift Schedules====   (actual shift planning will open in July)

Thurs 01: 14:00 - 19:00-ish <-- Please volunteer if able, even if you are not scheduled! More hands = less work win win!
