UIL Commitment Form for Virtual Students
**YOU ONLY NEED TO FILL OUT THIS FORM IF YOUR STUDENT IS PLANNING TO REMAIN VIRTUAL THIS YEAR.**

April is typically when our bands perform for the UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluation (the band equivalent of the STAAR test). We will still be participating in that evaluation this year, but will have to make many adjustments in order to perform successfully. Because of the number of Face-to-Face students we have in each band class, we have decided to combine the Varsity (Wind Symphony) and Non-Varsity (Honors Band) Bands together for the evaluation. We will be working on the same music in each class and will rehearse together a few times before the performances.

All virtual students in the Varsity & Non-Varsity Bands are invited to participate in the UIL performance as well, but MUST commit to a number of after school rehearsals this semester to prepare. The dates and times of the after school rehearsals are as follows:
*Monday, January 25 - 4:15-5:30pm (VIRTUAL STUDENTS ONLY)
*Monday, February 8 - 4:15-5:30pm (VIRTUAL STUDENTS ONLY)
*Monday, February 22 - 4:15-5:30pm (VIRTUAL STUDENTS ONLY)
*Monday, March 1 - 4:15-5:30pm (ALL WS & HB STUDENTS)
*Wednesday, March 3 - 4:15-5:30pm (ALL WS & HB STUDENTS)
*Monday, March 22 - 4:15-5:30pm (ALL WS & HB STUDENTS)
*Wednesday, March 24 - 4:15-5:30pm (ALL WS & HB STUDENTS)
*Monday, March 29 - 4:15-5:30pm (ALL WS & HB STUDENTS)
April rehearsals will be announced when we know the exact dates and details for the UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluation.

All Covid protocols will be followed for every rehearsal and performance. Masks and bell covers will be worn/used and we will be distanced by at least 6 feet. ALL STUDENTS WILL NEED TO WEAR HEAD-TO-TOE BLACK CLOTHING AND SHOES FOR OUR PERFORMANCES (dates to be determined).

If your VIRTUAL student would like to participate in the UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluation with the band this year, you MUST submit this form by Tuesday, January 12. All Face-to-Face students WILL be participating - please take note of the extra after school rehearsal requirements and plan for them in advance.
