Event Timing: Saturday November 23: 8am-9:45am at the 2019 AAA-CASCA Meetings in Vancouver.
Thank you for your interest in participating as a mentee in this 2019 SPA/SMA event. This year, it will be a 90-minute crash course in research, publications, methods, and professionalization.
To qualify as a mentee, you must be a member of SMA or SPA and be a current graduate student or recent graduate (within 3 years of terminal degree).
As a mentee, you will receive mentoring on two topics from two mentors. Each mentoring session with be 30 minutes, (i.e. 15 min presentation/talk, 15 min Q/A). There will be a 15 minute breakfast break between sessions and a 15 minute open discussion period at the end of the event .
Below, please provide your contact information and select all the topics on which you would be interested in receiving mentoring. Please be sure to provide any specifics in the final questions (e.g. in terms of getting an academic job, you may want specific advice on how to approach the campus visit). We will pass these requests along to the mentors.
In October, we will confirm your participation along with the topics you will receive mentoring on, based on mentor availability. We will do our best to match up mentors and mentees based on shared interest/expertise.
