PAAL:  Wampum Workshop (4-12 ans) /
L’atelier de la Grande paix de Montréal vous permettra d'apprendre sur le traité de paix historique rassemblant 39 nations autochtones et colons français en 1701. Soulignant l'importance des groupes autochtones d'hier et d'aujourd'hui Un conte racontant l'origine de la Grande paix de Montréal sera lu, suivi par un projet de bricolage de wampum.

L'événement sera animé par l'organisme PAAL, un organisme à but non-lucratif qui place la promotion de la diversité culturelle au sein de sa mission.

Join us for The Great Peace of Montreal workshop and learn about the historic peace treaty signed by 39 Canadian First Nations and French settlers in 1701. Highlighting the importance of indigenous peoples of past and present, a story on the origins of the Great Peace Treaty will be read, followed by wampum-making project.

The event will be animated by PAAL, a Montreal-based NGO who places cultural diversity at the heart of its mission.

Afin d'assurer la santé des participants et de notre personnel, les règles gouvernementales de port du masque et de distanciation sociale seront en vigueur. Pour garantir le déroulement sécuritaire de l'atelier, les mesures suivantes seront prises:
- Les surfaces de travail seront désinfectées régulièrement.
- Aucun partage de matériel entre enfants aura lieu.
- Le port du masque sera requis pour toute personne au delà de l'âge de 12 ans.
- La distanciation physique d'un minimum de 2m entre le personnel et les participants sera maintenue.
- Dès leur arrivée, les participants seront fournis du gel désinfectant et priés de se laver les mains.

In order to ensure the safety of participants and staff, we will be following government guidelines with regards to mask wearing and social distancing. To guarantee safe conduct throughout the workshop, the following measures will be taken:
- Work surfaces will be disinfected regularly
- No materials will be shared between children
- Mask-wearing will be mandatory for every person above the age of 12.
- Physical distancing between staff and participants of a minimum of 2m will be enforced.
- Participants will be provided hand sanitizer and asked to wash their hands upon arrival.
