I'm interested in putting together a small group of experienced editors (freelancers and/or in-house, in whatever field & whatever type of editing), to spend four months developing our own "template blah-blah" text that we use at whatever point in the editing process we find appropriate. Using Zoom and Google Drive, we'd:
- break the list of 98 cognitive biases so that each person is assigned a subset of this list to read through and brainstorm whether and how the bias might with our editing practice;
- collectively develop a table of relevant cognitive biases, with definitions and comments;
- meet over Zoom, say, monthly -- to meet one another, plan our work, and discuss the asychronously-developed table of cognitive biases;
- give one another feedback on our 'template blah-blahs'; and,
- have our own revised template blah-blahs complete by the end of July 2023.
Would you like to join this weird little group?
