The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance for tuition reimbursement for a teacher seeking a math endorsement to teach middle or secondary mathematics or for an individual switching careers to teach middle or secondary mathematics.  The recipient will be reimbursed up to $2,000 for the cost of tuition upon completion of mathematics or mathematics education courses. The courses must be completed within the year in which the recipient applied for the scholarship. The recipient of the scholarship is responsible for submitting a transcript and a receipt of tuition cost to the VCTM treasurer at the completion of the course.

Recipients of the scholarship are encouraged to share the knowledge gained by participating in this course work with teachers in their local school division or with their local VCTM affiliate. Recipients are also encouraged to share their experience pertaining to this scholarship by writing and submitting an article to the Virginia Mathematics Teacher or presenting at a VCTM conference.
