Why is this important?
Knowing your values is important so that you can live your life in line with what you believe in. your values are like a compass guiding your decisions. Many of us let life happen to us as opposed to taking action.

One of the reasons people struggle to meet their goals or find they know what to do but aren't taking the action required is because their goals have not been set in line with their values.

Once you have figured out what your values are and set your goals to align with these life becomes far more purposeful and fulfilling.

This is the key to living a life you love.

How to assess your values:
This quiz will run you through a process I use to set values. Remember these aren't set in stone - your values will change and I would recommend re assessing your values every so often (maybe every 3-6 months)
Have a look at this list of values. Pick 4-6 of them - you will likely resonate with all or most of them but the key is to determine which are most important to you. *

Part 2: Goal setting
Now you know your values it is time to start setting goals. We are going to start with the big life vision and work our way down thew pyramid...
ESG's focused life pyramid
Your mission - this is the big over arching life vision - what do you want your life to look like when you look back on it? This may seem all wooo - y but embrace the woo my friend.. get it out on paper.. no one else has to see this: *
Your 5 year vision - where do you see yourself in 5 years? What do you want to have achieved by then? Is there anything in your life currently that you don't want to be there in 5 years? Any habits or personality traits - these are changeable!! *
*Optional * if you struggle to answer these questions then try the perfect day exercise: Write down your perfect day - the more detail the better. Remember you can come back and iterate on this - it is a good journal prompt & iIf you ever have a close to perfect day make sure you write about it and why it was so great! (you will likely realise your perfect day is quite 'norma')
The next questions are about breaking down the big goals into bite size ACTIONABLE chunks: 1 year goal
90 day plan to get you closer to the one year goal - 90 days is a long enough period of time to make some real change - after each 90 day block I like to revisit my values & goals to see if they have changed
30 day actions to get you to the 90 day plan - 30 days of consistency tends to start to yield some great results
To do list THIS WEEK - what needs to be done this week to drive you in the direction of your goals
Daily tasks - the aim is to end your day closer to your goal than when you woke up.
