The 30-minute swimming assessment on Monday 17th May will consist of a timed swim, a distance swim, various entries and exits from the pool, and various lifesaving strokes under the guidance of the Instructors. You will need to bring long trousers and a long-sleeved T-shirt for this.
You do not need to have done any lifesaving prior to this, just the ability to swim and listen to instructions. We are very aware that quite a few of you will be swimming rusty due to Covid and we will take that into account.
We will contact you to give you a time to come on Monday 17th May between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.
At the moment we will not be doing any group first aid sessions, but as restrictions ease, we may be able to do a little more during the summer.
On Saturday 16th October and Sunday 17th October 2021, RLSSUK are hoping to run a National Lifesaving Competition and a National Speeds Competition. Final details of these are yet to be confirmed, but will be in a reduced format this year, due to the effects of Covid. Hopefully we will be able to take teams to this, and we will give you further information as we receive it.
