BBQ Pig Out 2021
This form will get you registered for the BBQ Pig Out on July 17th, 2021 in Ringgold. Please list an email you check regularly, as we will send out messages regarding how you pay, etc.

⸰Registration is $75 a team (includes some BBQ Pig Out 2021 gear) - link to pay is coming very soon and will be sent to the email address you provided
⸰You must fill out a vendor form from the City of Ringgold & acknowledgment brochure from the Department of Public Health (see links below)
⸰You will be responsible for your own power/heat source that you'll need.
⸰You can cook/smoke ahead of time.
⸰Setup at the market (96 Depot Street) will begin at 3pm (we have another event that morning).
⸰The band and concert event will start at 6pm - judging is not until 7:15 - but people will be there and probably want to purchase BBQ from you starting at 6pm.
⸰Please have a $1 'BBQ bite" sample available so people can try everyone they want, and put in their votes for fan favorite. (You keep money from BBQ bites and any other BBQ you sell)

⸰Prize money will be broken down for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner - it will be 60% of the registration pot. For example - if 10 participants: 1st - $250, 2nd - $125, 3rd - $75, people's choice award as well.
⸰You'll plate your best meat/item for the judges to consider

JUDGING:
5 person panel
judging based on Looks, Flavor, and Execution
⸰ Looks - 15% - each contestant will provide one plate/tray of your food. Judges will base their score in this category solely off this plate. Items cannot be propped up, all toothpicks must be visible and garnishes that aren’t on the tasting plate may be present on this plate.

⸰ Flavor - 50% - self explanatory

⸰ Execution - 35% - did you execute what you intended to execute? The idea is presented here, taken from one website's description of 'execution' - "Considerations include, but are not limited to, the intention of the cook, proper representation of category,  proper cooking methods, proper balance of ingredients, and ease in eating the dish. For example, if the dish name is “burger on toasted roll,” but the roll is hardly toasted or burned, the recipe was not executed properly. If the roll is not toasted, but still delicious, it is considered an execution fail, because it’s not what the cook intended. If the roll was too much bread for the meat ratio, that’s poor execution. The ingredients were not balanced"

Judges will score each entry independently at first. Then they will discuss and provide a final order and winners.
