Each year, NYLA/SSL presents the Knickerbocker Award for Juvenile Literature. It recognizes a New York State author or illustrator whose body of work is of a consistently superior quality and supports the curriculum and the educational goals of New York State schools. Award winners must agree to receive this award and speak at the Knickerbocker Banquet at the annual spring SSL Conference. Please see a list of past winners here:

Nominated authors will be placed on an electronic ballot, with voting by SSL members to be held that May.
