Please read the general information, and fill out the required personalinformation and waiver in this form if you plan to attend an Speed River Bicycle (SRB) Gravel Grinders Multi-surface Ride
General Information: At several dates throughout the year, SRB offers cyclists an opportunity to meet, ride, and socialize while exploring new places to cycle, mostly away from traffic and closer to nature. These multi-surface rides utilize mostly unpaved surfaces like gravel roads, rail trails, recreation trails, snowmobile trails, single track, and hydro line access roads. The rides offer varying degrees of challenge, and range anywhere from 40km-60km in length.
These “Multisurface Rides” are intended, and best suited for drop-bar bikes with 700C tires designed for loose and hard pack surfaces.

The styles of bikes listed above offer tires starting at 32mm wide. These tires are wide enough to handle the rough terrain and offer enough volume to provide comfort to the rider without the weight and rolling resistance penalties of a mountain bike. Mountain bikes are welcome, just be prepared to work a lot harder to keep up with the lighter, quicker rolling bikes.
All that said, we at SRB wants to help you find the places to ride, and the people to ride with. The rides are friendly, casual and simply about getting out and enjoying the countryside while mostly free of traffic, and having a fun, social occasion with other cyclists. We don't want to discourage anyone from riding, and we do want everyone who joins to enjoy it. For this we strongly encourage riders be comfortable with the distance that they are committing to. All of these rides are suited for a rider at Level 2 (see below) or greater. Depending on the ride, speeds can average anywhere from 18km/hr to 23km/hr on gravel. We let the riders be the judge of their limits, and welcome anyone who feels comfortable with the pace and distance that the given ride will offer.
