Jean Murrell Adams is an attorney, author, wife and mother living in Northern California.
Mrs. Adams opened the law firm of ADAMS ESQ in October of 2002, and over the years, ADAMS
ESQ has represented thousands of special needs children and has expanded to include locations throughout California and Nevada.

Prior to founding ADAMS ESQ, Mrs. Adams formed the litigation department at DreamWorks
where she managed all litigation matters world-wide. She also served as Vice President and
Assistant General Counsel at Sony Pictures Entertainment. Mrs. Adams received her B.A. in
1983 from Princeton University and her law degree in 1986 from the University of Southern
California. Mrs. Adams is a frequent writer, blogger and lecturer. Her book, The Top 5 IEP
Mistakes and How to Avoid Them, was published in December 2019.

Mrs. Adams was honored by KQED public radio in San Francisco and Wells Fargo Bank as a
Women’s History Month Unsung Hero for her service on behalf of low-income children with
special education needs. Recently, she received grants from both Salesforce and Facebook for her
stalwart support of underserved communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
