assionate about marine conservation and community engagement? Join the Pacific Rim Whale Festival as a board member and play a pivotal role in interpreting our values, representing the organization, and actively helping to put on an amazing festival for locals & visitors to the area.
Board Member Responsibilities
As part of my responsibilities as a board member:
I will attend at least 75% of board meetings and committee meetings between September and April each year. *
Average one to two meetings per month*
I will interpret the organization's work and values to the community, represent the organization, and act as a spokesperson.
I will actively participate in one or more fundraising activities, if applicable.
I will actively participate in one or more festival events.
I will act in the best interests of the organization, and excuse myself from discussions and votes where I have a conflict of interest.
I will stay informed about what's going on in the organization. I will ask questions and request information. I will participate in and take responsibility for making decisions on issues, policies and other board matters.
I will work in good faith with staff and other board members as partners towards the achievement of our goals.
