The Floating Classroom at Ipswich River Watershed Association's Riverbend Headquarters needs your help this summer!
The Floating Classroom brings youth from around the Ipswich River watershed to Riverbend for adventures in boats and on land. Volunteers are what make it a valuable learning and community bonding experience for all.
Share your expertise by helping youth place their boats in the water, or lead a paddle around the bend. Share your love of trails by leading a nature walk. Enjoy making connections through greeting our guests and helping them find their way.
Our goal this year is to have two to six volunteers helping with every visit to Riverbend. Many hands make light work, and our guests love to meet the people who steward this special river. Help us meet this goal by signing up to volunteer... and join us for a fun training day in the spring, where you'll learn paddling basics, gather some tips and tricks for outdoor education, and meet likeminded folks!
We plan to host a training day in late April or early May from 9am to noon. Stick around in the afternoon for a group paddle, weather permitting.
