The Adams County SAYL Program helps young people and government officials work together. The purpose of the program is to create a model of youth involvement within Adams County through direct participation in local government. The overall goal is to engage youth in community issues and concerns while fostering the development of confident, independent, and motivated youth leaders. SAYL will provide 4 members the opportunity to explore future careers by attending a monthly committee meeting.
Here are two options for a successful SAYL experience
1.) Job shadow a specific County Department which includes attending the Department Committee meeting each month.
2.) Choose to gain a better understanding of how local government works in general by attending a variety of Department Committee Meetings. You will attend a different Department Committee meeting each month.
Applicants will be able to expand their application through a conversation with the program educator. For questions related to this program, please reach out to Evan Henthorne, at 608-339-4237, or email
