Request form for Downscaled Climate Projections across the South-Central U.S.
The Climate Projections Evaluation Project (C-PrEP) is a collection of statistically downscaled future climate projections which includes projections of daily high temperature, daily low temperature, and daily total precipitation across the south-central United States. The multiple sets of projections are a combination of three global climate models, which simulate 21st-century climate responses for three different future atmospheric scenarios (known as representative concentration pathways or RCPs 2.6, 4.5, and 8.5). These downscaled climate projections for the south-central US region represent a range of potential future climate paths that can serve as a tool in adaptation planning. However, the multiple sets of climate projections available demonstrate that some uncertainties exist but all show notable warming through the end of the 21st century. These uncertainties exist due in part to how human activity may change the future atmospheric composition and are represented by the different RCP scenarios.
