We would love to have you join us on the PTA Board next year!
The OP PTA Board is in need of 2 additional members for the 2022-2023 school year: Advocacy Committee Chair and Communications Member At-Large. These positions are open to all, whether you are a veteran volunteer or a brand new OP parent! Attending our monthly meetings and helping to communicate with various committees is a great way to get more involved, meet more people, and help to make a difference at OP for our children. Board meetings are on the first week of the month, August - May.

*Board member elections will be at final PTA meeting of the year:
May 12th, 7pm on ZOOM

Why should you join the PTA Board?
"I love getting to know everything that's happening behind the scenes and brainstorming the best ways to make the year fantastic for our children and families, getting to meet new people and pushing myself out of my comfort zone."
— Janae Britt, PTA President

"Working full-time I wasn't sure that I would be able to also serve on the PTA board, but I am so glad I took the chance. I am easily able to volunteer around my schedule and OP staff, volunteers, board members, and committee leaders have always been fantastic to work with, generous with their time, and inspiring with their talents. I love that I can see firsthand the difference that the PTA makes and that I have this connection with OP so I can share with my daughter just how special her school is."
— Jackie Timmons, Vice President

"I really enjoyed becoming more involved at OP…getting to know more of my children’s classmates and OP staff members while also having the ability to meet other parents that were excited to help the school as well. Being a member of the board gives you the opportunity to figure out where you can do the most good for your child’s school and then you are in a position to make it happen."
— Heather Bullock, former President

"When I look back on my time volunteering on the PTA board, I realize how rewarding it was to be apart of such a great team. Our work together with the other PTA members, administrative staff and teachers made our volunteerism seem effortless.”
— Kristin Neal, former President

"It has been wonderful collaborating with other parents to support our teachers and students.  Working on International Week has been rewarding to hear our students learn about other cultures and share those learnings with their classmates and families."
— Katrina Somsel, former Treasurer
