St. Peter's Parish Faith Formation Registration

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is an approach to religious formation for children ages 3-9 that is rooted in the Bible, the Liturgy and the education principles of Dr. Maria Montessori.  It seeks to create and facilitate a sacred, hands-on space called an "Atrium" where children gather to hear the Word of God and work with simple yet beautiful materials that allow them to encounter, learn and celebrate the essential mysteries and teachings of the Roman Catholic faith in a hands-on way.  Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a mixed age program where children receive one-on- one and group presentations, designed to meet their developmental needs, and foster their relationship with God. Instructional Catechesis, Grades 1st - 7th, the catechist leads the class through a systematic study of the doctrine using a set curriculum, which consists of a mixture of verbal instruction, study, discussion, and prayer.  The catechist seeks to follow in the footsteps of the Apostles by cultivating in each child a deep love for Jesus Christ and a thorough knowledge of the beauty and truths of the Catholic Faith.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program will be held in the 'Atrium' located in the white house on the property. There are two day/time options for the CGS program: Sundays from 10:30-11:45am OR Tuesday from 3:30-5:00pm.
