An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a numerical label such as 192.0.2.1 that is assigned to a device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. Project MUSE needs a static IP address to provide you access. To find your static IP:
If you have Windows
1. Click on the taskbar search and type “Command prompt.”
2. Click on “Command prompt.”
3. Type “ipconfig/all” and press “Enter.”
4. Find the “DHCP enabled” line. “Yes” means your IP address is dynamic, and “No” means your IP is static.
If you have MacOS
1. Click on the Apple icon and hit “System settings.”
2. Choose “Network” and click “Wi-Fi.”
3. Then click “Details” next to your network.
4. Click on “TCP/IP.”
5. Find “Configure IPv4.” “Manually” means your IP address is static, and “Using DHCP” means your IP is dynamic.
