Dolphin Families! Get excited LNE is offering A LOT of enrichment opportunities for our children. Below is an 'interest' form for our staff to generate information from. This does not guarantee your child will be in their 1st choice club but this helps those who are over that club know who to send forms to.
Please understand a club is above and beyond, an enrichment activity for our children that is offered by staff. By completing this form, you are giving your child permission to be a part of clubs at LNE and understand the following expectations:
- Children will be an active participant by following directions and adhering to the club expectations as set by the club teacher/leader
- 3 late pick-ups will result in your child discontinuing with that club
- 3 absences without a valid reason, will prevent your child from continuing with that club
- Behavioral issues will be discussed and can be grounds for your child discontinuing with that club

Chess Club: Join the Chess club! Open to any 3rd - 5th grader with a growth mindset! Whether you are new to chess or a pro, we want you! We will meet every other Wednesday from 2:30 - 3:15pm

Odyssey of the Mind: Odyssey of the mind is an exciting, afterschool, educational club that encourages students to work together to solve problems creatively. Students are encouraged to use their creativity to present their own interpretation of literary classics, to create mechanical devices, and more! Students practice their solutions year long to prepare for the local and state competitions. If your third, fourth, or fifth grader is interested in joining the Odyssey of the Mind Team,

Battle of the Books: This is a hardworking team of 4th and 5th grade students who represent our school in a district wide competition. Students are required to read 15 books, then answer questions about these books for competition rounds. Interested students should start reading the books now - they are all available in the library. The team will be chosen in the fall and practice starts Wednesday, Oct. 6th. Mrs. Boone is speaking to all 4th and 5th graders to explain the club and there will be a tryout at the first meeting. The competition is held in Statesville in March, which is when the club will end.

Art Club: 10-12 students, 3rd-5th 2:30 - 4:00, $5 fee and a white cotton t-shirt that fits the child (we'll tie dye club t-shirts) and every other Wed.

Robotics: Led by Mrs. Field- she will send information based on interest

Spanish Club: Spanish Club Enrichment provides superior after-school Spanish classes in person. Our Spanish Club Enrichment is designed to teach the Spanish language and culture that focuses on developing auditory, visual and verbal skills in fun, fast paced activities in an environment by fluent Spanish speaking teachers. This Club is for second and third graders to enhance Spanish skills. We have 10 spots for our Spanish learners. They will meet on Mondays.

Ukulele Club: 15 students. Giving priority to fifth graders who have ukulele experience (aka played with me last year), and if those spots don’t get filled we can open it to additional grades with ukulele experience.

Run Fit/Afternoon Fitness: Club headed up by Coach 'K' after school focusing on keeping kids active.
