Litsy Awards 2021  Round 1
Thanks to all those who nominated books for the 5th annual Litsy Awards.  Below are the nominations grouped by category.  Please vote only once in each category. You are not required to vote in every category.

This round will narrow the results, which will be used for Round 2.  You have until  January 17, 2022.  Final Round will be posted that weekend.

Each category is its own page so as not to confuse which title goes in which category.  The books may have been moved from the category in which they were nominated into a category suggested by the publisher.   Books that were nominated but did not meet the rules, or were not nominated with an author name attached to determine the book, are not on this list.  Every effort was made so that all nominations are represented.

A reminder of nomination criteria:
1.  For nominations you MUST HAVE READ THE BOOK!
2. The Book must have a copyright/publish date in 2021
3. The book must be in English.  If the book was published in another language prior to 2021, but is in English for the first time in 2021 that is acceptable.
4. Title must be in the Litsy Database by Dec 31, 2021.  On the desk top version, Littens can add a book to the database, or you can ask the host to add the book.  Please provide a Goodreads or a Library Thing link to the request.
5. At least 3 people have to mark the book as "read" in the Litsy Database by December 31, 2021.  If one of those people is the author of the book, their "read" tag will NOT be counted.
      A. Authors can NOT nominate their own books.
6. Yes, the same book can fall into multiple categories as long as it is within the publishers suggested designations.   Any book the host feels have been placed in a "wrong" category, will be placed in it's correct location.
            i. Ex. no non-fiction books will be allowed in the horror category
      A. Kids and Teen books may fall in the general categories, but adult books can not fall in the kids categories.
            i. Ex: The Graveyard Book by Gaiman could fall in Fiction, Horror, YA, MG, Audiobook, and GN
      B. Kids and Teen books may fall in each other's categories as they can and are often read by many age groups.
            i. Ex. Percy Jackson could fall in Teen or MG
      C. Graphic Novels have their own category but can fall in any category in which they fit.
      D. Audiobooks have their own category but can fall into any category they fit.
7. Books ONLY available on specific platforms like Kindle, Audible, Nook, etc will ONLY be allowed in the platform category.
      A.  THIS MEANS IF A PUBLIC LIBRARY CAN NOT ADD THE BOOK TO THEIR COLLECTION, THAT TITLE CAN NOT BE NOMINATED IN ANY GENERAL CATEGORY!  (Blame Amazon and Macmillan Publishing for this!)
7. You do not need to suggest a book for every category.  Only the ones you wish to nominate.
