NPA Roles
Organizing Co-Chair:
This co-chair will work to build relationships with targeted schools or networks. Primary duties and responsibilities include monitoring the progress of goals and targets made by the curriculum co-chair and setting goals and expectations for the team. The organizing co-chair must be a skilled negotiator and facilitator with strong leadership and communication skills. Preferably this person is already connected to the education system.
Curriculum Co-Chair:
This co-chair will work with the organizing co-chair to implement strategies and to execute the mission and purpose of NBC Primary duties and responsibilities involves creating curriculum for the service-co-chair and staff mentors to follow. The curriculum co-chair is also responsible for keeping track of the program’s progress and to research effective ways to grow the organization pedagogical structure. The ideal candidate must possess the skills of research, supervising staff, communication, teaching, and curriculum writing.
Treasurer Co-Chair:
This co-chair will lead both business and marketing strategies, seeking the best practices to target and obtain the appropriate participants for NBC’s organization. This co-chair will create budgets for programs. Other duties include locating funds, grants, or outside resources for the program. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated fundraising experience with strong business and financial acumen with budgeting, communication, and power mapping.
Marketing Co-Chair:
Organize fundraisers for community events and initiatives. They will seek the best practices to target and obtain the appropriate participants for NBC’s organization. The marketing co-chair will post on social media. They must be familiar with all social media platforms, writing, editing, communication, and web design.
Service Co-Chair:
This co-chair will work directly with educators and students to ensure they are benefiting from the program. Service co-chair will communicate details on the progress of initiatives made by teachers, students, and school administration with other chair members. They will work directly with the curriculum co-chair and school educators to ensure curriculum is effective. They must have prior teaching experience with strong communication, leadership, and relationship building skills. In this position, punctuality is a must and open schedule availability.
