Preparations are underway for the TSID 2024 Conference to be held June 5-9, 2024 in the beautiful Downtown Fort Worth, Texas. (Conference Hotel to be announced soon) We want to invite you to be a very important part of this conference / reunion. (NOTE: please submit a separate response for each presentation proposal.)
The conference committee is seeking qualified presenters to conduct workshops, lead discussions and provide skills-based training Forth Worth, Texas June 5-9, 2024. Submissions pertaining to any topics of benefit related to the field of interpreting and the continued development of any and all interpreting skills will be considered. We want to offer various workshops at different skill levels and a variety of interpreting genres. Some examples are:

- Teaming Protocol
- Mental Health Interpreting
- Understanding what Deaf Consumers Expect from an Interpreter
- Skill Building for K-12 interpreters
- Medical Interpreting
- Mental Health Interpreting
- Interpreting Ethics
-Tri-lingual Interpreting
- Business Practices
- Religious Interpreting
- Preparing to Enter the Interpreting Profession
- Video Relay
- Vicarious trauma and self-care
We are seeking both Deaf and Hearing presenters to share their knowledge in our shared language of ASL. Those who wish to present in another language, as would be appropriate for Tri-lingual training, will be considered as well.
**PLEASE NOTE: ALL DATES BELOW HAVE BEEN EXTENDED. ALL PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED PROPOSALS ARE STILL BEING CONSIDERED HOWEVER, WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO CONSIDER PROPOSALS RELATED TO THE FOLLOWING AREAS NOT YET SUBMITTED; MEDICAL / MENTAL HEALTH, VRS/VRI, AND RELIGIOUS INTERPRETING. WE ALSO ENCOURAGE INTERPRETERS IN THE BIPOC COMMUNITY TO CONSIDER SUBMITTING PROPOSALS.

* ALL PROPOSALS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN THEIR ENTIRETY BY April 7, 2023.
* Those selected will be notified by email no later than April 17, 2023.
* Presenter contracts will be due back to the Conference Co-Chairs 14 days after receipt.
Any contracts not received by the due date will be listed on the website as "pending" for up to 2 weeks. After two weeks, any "pending" workshops will be replaced by an alternate workshop and placed on a backup list.
* Workshop and presenter information will be publicized on the TSID Conference 2024 website by March 1, 2024
If selected, slides, handouts and any other materials must be made available to the interpreter coordinator one month prior to the conference start date.
