Opening Prayer:  Start with the Sign of the Cross and then pray together the Act of Hope.
Session Theme:  H - Homily, Hosanna, Holiness
Our theme this month was looking at a couple ways the letter H in Eucharist can help us better understand what the Eucharist is and also for us to better understand the parts of the Mass.
Different Ways to Pray and Types of Prayer Activities
One of the questions that came up a lot in September's what/why question activity was variations on what does it mean to pray, why do we pray, how do we pray, etc.  So we will be including a different type of prayer and/or way to pray each month to give you more options at home.
Music as Prayer:  This month's Prayer experience is using music.  Ms. Julie led us in some hymns and talked to us a little bit about why we have hymns and how we can use music to pray.  The lyrics to the songs can be prayers.  Use the lyrics below as you watch, sing, and pray along with the video of Ms. Julie:   https://vimeo.com/668405616/a60f55bcc1

Have you or anyone in your family thought of music as prayer before? What do you like or dislike about the idea that music can be a form of prayer?     *
We are hoping to make a GIFT 2021-22 music CD this year.  What is your favorite Christian song or song we sing at church that you'd like included?
Each month we receive a short presentation from one of our priests or deacons.  This month, Deacon Patrick gave us a reflection on some of the H words associated with the Eucharist, including how it leads us to holiness and can be healing.  He also discussed what the homily is and the Holy, Holy, Holy (or Sanctus/Hosanna) prayer. Deacon Patrick's talk follows Ms. Julie's music as prayer portion of the video (beings at minute 9:00).  Please watch the video and answer the following questions.

Deacon Patrick's Video:  Question 1:  Deacon Patrick describes the homily and how to best listen to it when we are at Mass.  What are some of the things he suggests we listen for to get the most out of a homily? *
Deacon Patrick's Video:  Question 2:  Where do we get the words for the Holy, Holy, Holy/Hosanna prayer at Mass? And who joins us at Mass in singing this prayer? *
Deacon Patrick's Video:  Question 3: What are Deacon Patrick's final words for all us to always remember? Also, please feel free to share any other insights or ask any questions that you have about his presentation.
