In 2023, SCWA will host the weekly Summer Series again via Zoom. Here are the weeks and assigned topics. Please sign up below if you're interested in leading one session. The leader's job is to provide content on the topic and facilitate discussion around it. These are NOT lecture meetings, but rather topical discussions with examples curated by the presenter.
May 23 - Aug 1 (10 classes at noon on Tuesdays via zoom except July 4)

- Plotting and character arcs
- Pacing and tension
- Alliteration and rhythm (poetry)
- World building – fantasy and sci fi
- Suspense, clues, and foreshadowing in mystery novels
- All your query questions answered (best for an agent or publisher presenter)
- Marketing your book part 1 – find your audience, basics, email newsletter, website
- Marketing your book part 2 – social media, giveaways, contests, etc.
- Non-fiction book proposals / memoir queries
