LUNA Language Services offers a 40-hour course for medical interpreting called Bridging the Gap (BTG). The course is
extremely
popular.
This form will help LUNA screen applicants for
future
BTG courses. Two outcomes are possible:
If you are invited
, LUNA will contact you to set up Language Proficiency Assessments (LPA's). These are 30-min. phone assessments of your speaking skills. You'll take LPA's in English and one other language. You must pass both assessments with a score of 9 or higher to participate in the course.
If you are not invited
, your information will be held on file for up to six months for a course in that timeframe.
Please note:
State funding is available to pay $600 of your $650 total tuition for this class.

Washington Township Adult Education (WTAE) partners with LUNA Language Services to offer BTG courses for FREE (a $600 value). Your only out-of-pocket cost is $50 for the LPA's.
In order for WTAE to pay your BTG course fee, you will need to complete approximately 4-5 hours of self-paced enrollment for WTAE. The WTAE enrollment must be finished at least 7 days prior to starting the course.
