Upon completion of Examiner training, you may receive a CAPE application assignment. If warranted, a site visit will be scheduled for your examination team. PLEASE CAREFULLY REVIEW EXAMINER TIME COMMITMENT BELOW.

The CAPE Program seeks to provide fair and competent evaluation of each application. Accordingly, Examiners are assigned applications on the basis of their knowledge and experience, consistent with the requirements to avoid conflicts of interest, to apportion the application load equitably, and to adhere to agreed-upon schedules.
Depending upon the results of evaluations, overall participation of Examiners may vary.

The examination cycle for the Eureka Award is August-November and typically requires 100-120 hours. The site visit dates for 2020 are:

• Week of October 18, 2020
• Week of October 25, 2020
• Week of November 1, 2020

In Stage 1, Independent Review, all Examiners and Senior Examiners participate. The time commitment is typically 40-50 hours per application.

In Stage 2, Consensus Review, all Examiners and Senior Examiners participate.The time commitment is typically 18-20 hours.

In Stage 3, Site Visit Review, typically most Examiners and Senior Examiners participate. The time commitment is typically 4-8 hour preparation, and 2-5 days on-site, depending on the size and complexity of the applicant organization. Each day on site is typically around 10-12 hours.

Note: For logistic and cost considerations, it may not be feasible to take the entire team to a Site Visit. These decisions are discussed among the applicant, CCE, and the team’s Senior Examiner. All Examiners should plan to be available for the site visit.
