1, Rate APPEAL - How appealing did you find this? How appealing do you think it would be to other kids? 5=Great; 4=Good; 3=Good; but..; 2 =O K; 1= Not so Good; 0=Terrible *
1a. Start with an exclamatory phrase telling how much you liked or did not like this followed by 2 to 3 reasons why.  *
2. PLOT SUMMARY: In 3 to 4 sentences, give a brief synopsis of the storyline. Avoid giving a play by play report. Explain it as if you were describing it to someone who has never seen it. *
3. CONTENT: Rate how good is the story or plot? scale:  5=Great; 4=Good; 3=Good; but..; 2 =O K; 1= Not Good; 0=terrible *
3a. What did you like or dislike about the story line or the content? Be specific to the story and the story development, not the production -- that comes later. *
4. PRODUCTION QUALITY: How would you rate the production quality of this film? Scale:  5=Great; 4=Good; 3=Good; but..; 2 =O K; 1= Not Good; 0= Terrible *
4a. Tell us about the cinematography or camera work?  Are there interesting angles, close-ups,  specific shots that impressed you. Is the quality of the camerawork suitable for exhibition?  If it is animated, talk about the animation and the camera angles or other points of view we see. Be specific. When you make a generalized statement, back it up with a specific example.  *
4b. Tell us about the costumes. Do they suit the story line and the time period? Does anything stick out in particular? If not, just say: the costumes suit the storyline.  If this is animation, describe how the animated characters appear. Again, be specific. Follow up a generalized statement with a specific example.  *
4c. What about the sets or locations? Do they suit the story? Does anything stand out? If this is animation, these are referred to as "backgrounds." Once more, remember to give specific examples.  *
4d. Tell us about the background music, featured music and sound effects? What stands out? How does the music enhance the development of the story? Again, give specific examples, don't stop with a general statement.  *
4e. Are there any special or visual effects? If so, are they effective and believable? Is anything remarkable? Give specific examples. If there are none, just say, there are no special or visual effects.
4f.  Let's talk about the characters and the actors that play the characters. (Remember to put the actor's name after the character in parentheses) Also remember that in a documentary, there are no "characters" per se, there are "subjects" or "speakers." Tell us about the character development of key people. How does their character grow from the beginning of the film to the end. Or perhaps it doesn't. That too is worth mentioning also.  *
4g. What about the behind the scenes contributors: producer, director, production designer, music director or composer, costumer designer, etc. Describe any outstanding contributions in this area.
4h. What is your favorite part of the film? Note: it  might be a favorite scene, music or character. Don't just name it - describe it in enough detail that your audience understands what you are saying.  *
4g. In your opinion, are the production values high enough to meet big screen standards? *
We know you are not a professional here, but, based on your watching this, will this project well on a big screen?  Or do you only recommend virtual screenings? If it pixelates on your computer, it most likely will not play well at either a virtual or live event.
5. MESSAGE. What is the message that you took away from watching this film? Remember that films are a way of telling stories and stories have a point to them. There is no right or wrong answer here. Whatever you got out of it is the film's message for you. But, don't start your sentence with "The message I got was..." Just say, "The film's message is about.."  *
5a. Are there unsavory elements to warn viewers about? Some films will be borderline appropriate for kids and families. We like to warn audiences of things they might find objectionable, particularly for younger audiences. *
Required
5b.Describe in detail the thing/s you marked in the previous question. i.e. If you say it has inappropriate behavior, describe what that is here. If you say, "it has partial nudity," define what that means and where it occurs (time in film).
7a. Are there any known celebrities in this film? If so tell us who. *
A known celebrity is someone with an IMDB ranking of under 10,000.
