Pledge to Protect our High Desert Water
As a responsible business operator, I promise to protect the Mojave River Watershed for myself, my neighbors, my customers, and the wildlife of the High Desert. I pledge to keep trash and unsafe chemicals away from water runoff that can contaminate our source of drinking water.
Litter, pesticides, and fertilizers can wash into storm drains or seep underground and flow directly into our waterways. The resulting bacteria and risk of disease threaten the health of our community.
I will follow these simple steps to be a protect the High Desert water supply:
1. Dispose of all toxic chemicals and wastewater properly.
2. Recycle oil and grease and never pour it down a drain.
3. Use dry methods for spill clean-up and never spray debris into the street.
4. Keep the area around my business's dumpster secure and clean.
5. Share these practices with my employees and customers.
The Mojave River Watershed Group (MRWG) thanks you for your pledge to keep our waterways clean. MRWG will promote businesses who take this
pledge in advertising efforts, on our website and social media pages.
