The Believe awards were set up in 2012 to recognise young people in Merseyside who are unsung heroes and invites 10 outstanding young people aged between 7 and 17 to be celebrated for their stories of selflessness and for making a difference in our communities. This year our awards are focussed on some of the key history makers in Liverpool’s history and the lasting impact they left on this city.

The event will take place at the Titanic Hotel, Liverpool on June 21st and is themed around the 'History Makers'. It will include a 3-course meal, live entertainment and of course the awards, and finishes with a fire eating performance.

The Believe Awards are open to nominations of young people aged 7-17 living in Merseyside. Nominations will run for 12 weeks closing on 13th of May 2024. 10 winners will each receive 4 free tickets to the event.

All details and information from nominees will be kept confidential and only seen by the judging panel in order to select winners.

Stories of winners will be shared at the event after parental / guardian approval.

The Noel Chavasse Award – recognises selflessness

The Josephine Butler Award – recognises someone who makes life better for other people

The Duncan, Newlands and Fresh Award – recognises a group of young people who have worked to improve the health and well being of others

The Kitty Wilkinson Award – recognises those who give generously to change the lives of othersrosity - a young person who has given of themselves

The Edward Rushton Award – recognises someone who makes a difference even when its unpopular

The Roscoe and Horrocks Award – recognise someone who inspires others to learn

The Frank Hornby Award – recognises someone who makes the world a better place to be

The Father James Nugent Award – recognises someone who champions the overlooked

The Joseph Williamson Award – recognises those who Help others to feel valued

The Eleanor Rathbone Award – recognises a young person who speaks out to make a difference for others.
