A Discussion on Proposed Article 2 Changes

What does it mean to be a UU?: A discussion on proposed Article 2 changes

In this three-part class, facilitated by Jennifer Courtwright, we will explore what it means to be a UU by identifying our own individual values, comparing our individual values to the UU values proposed in Article 2, and lastly discussing the UU sources and other components of Article 2.

The class will meet from 12:15-1:15pm on Sundays Feb 19th, 26th, and March 5th in the fellowship hall and also on zoom.

Childcare will be provided for all classes. Folks are encouraged to attend all classes if possible but can drop in for one without having attended the previous classes. During the first class, participants will identify four core values that they aspire to. For homework, participants will write a sentence defining each of those four core values. Then during the second class, we will share our individual values and discuss how those compare to the values in the proposed new UU bylaws in Article 2. During the third class, we will discuss the proposed changes to the UU sources and other components of Article 2. We will close out the class with a discussion on any amendments to Article 2 we might want to propose for General Assembly (GA) and solicit feedback to inform our congregation’s GA delegate votes on the proposed Article 2 changes.
