Jenine and I know firsthand what it’s like to grow an Instagram webcomic account from nothing.

Back in 2018, our dream was to grow the Tubby Nugget community to at least 10,000 followers in our first year.  But instead, we were fortunate to see that number grow to over 150,000 followers in that first year; and recently, we grew our first 100,000 followers on Tik Tok within a single day!

Over the past two years, our Instagram community has grown to over 480,000 followers.  And in two months, that first 100,000 followers on Tik Tok became 600,000.  We always feel so fortunate to find ourselves in a position where we see those numbers still growing, and our little dream for our community growing bigger by the day.

But it frustrates us that there are so many other amazing webcomic artists out there with dreams like our own whose work is being snuffed out by the social media machine.

As a comic built on spreading wholesome and loving energy online, we feel very strongly that mental health also plays a strong role in our ability to create, and enjoy being creative.

So when we feel a lack of support from our communities...that drive to create can sometimes be snuffed out too.
