Using Buses at Level 2
We have now been advised that we need to keep a register of students who catch the bus to or from school and which services they use. If you only use the bus some days then you should still complete the form. Please fill this in even if your child usually catches the bus but you don't plan on using buses in the foreseeable future.

Taking a public transport bus to school can be problematic for if social distancing is not observed. We’re asking our operators to make sure this is happening to reduce the spread of COVID-19 on buses, this means most buses can only operate at approximately 25% capacity with no standing passengers allowed.

Contact tracing is very important to us all in the event of a COVID breakout. We are asking that your school creates a list of student names, their contact details, together with the bus service (route) along with their morning and afternoon departure times. If we are able to monitor who is using the bus this creates a “controlled environment” meaning the required distancing is slightly less, the bus can cater to more students and we increase the likelihood of the bus company being able to provide a safe, reliable transport option for students.

Without the ability to contact trace the buses must continue to operate at significantly reduced capacity which is likely to result in some students having difficulty accessing school by bus.
