We are excited to bring the news that the rehearsals for the Black Culture Choir will begin Thursday, January 12th. We will be working towards a performance at the Festival of Cultures, which will take place on Saturday, February 25. When more details are available they will be shared.

Students from 1st through 12th Grade are all welcome.

No previous singing or choir experience required.

We will focus the rehearsals initially on 2 songs, 'Lift Every Voice and Sing' and 'It's Time'. Links will be sent out for the music and lyrics right before the winter break.

The version of Lift Every Voice and Sing is in two-part harmony. Please indicate your preference in the form below - siblings should choose the same part to make practicing easier. However, please understand that you may be put in a different part to make sure there is a balance between the parts.

When you receive the links for the music and lyrics please spend some time familiarizing yourself with both songs, especially the rap in 'It's Time' and the part you have been given for Lift Every Voice and Sing.

The rehearsals will be every Thursday from 4:05 PM - 5:00 PM in the Primary Music Room. Middle and High School students will meet in the Primary Lobby.

For the performance we will wear either plain black (no logos) t-shirt or for those that have them the Celebrate Black Culture shirts.
