Melts, Glasses, Magmas 2024
The 2024 edition of MELTS, GLASSES, MAGMAS will take place as in-person event in Munich, Germany, from 22 through 26 July 2024.
The course will consist of 15 hours of lectures and 12 hours of lab demonstrations. The course will cover the chemical and physical properties of silicate melts and explain how they control magmatic and volcanic behaviour. A brief structural introduction is followed by the principles and results of experiments that quantify the properties of melts, glasses and magmas. The course will start on Monday at 1pm and end on Friday at 4 pm.
