Engineers and Scientists Acting Locally
Finding Your Voice: Using Science to Engage Local Government & Communities
Featuring Engineers and Scientists Acting Locally
Thursday,  March 4th | 12 to 1 PM PST | via Zoom

As scientists, we have access to information and methods that much of the general public does not. This access gives us power, which we can use to help improve our world. In this workshop brought to you by Caltech Letters and the Caltech Y’s Student Activism Speaker Series (SASS), and made possible with GSC Event Funding, you’ll learn about the benefits of scientists engaging with their local governments and communities as well as specific ways to get involved. We will focus on writing public comments and op-ed pieces. Maybe we’ll see some of your op-ed pieces published through Caltech Letters soon!

The presentation of speakers should not be considered an endorsement of the speaker’s views by the California Institute of Technology, The Caltech Y or The Caltech Y Social Activism Speaker Series Committee.  Views expressed are solely those of the speaker.

RSVP is required to get the Zoom link and instructions for attendance.
